The Election Commission of Pakistan heard the PDM, rejected the position of Tehreek-e-Insaf once again. The PDM, especially the Muslim League-N, wanted one of the names given by it to be made caretaker chief minister of Punjab, and so it happened. The Chief Election Commissioner suddenly got up and walked out during the meeting. According to the sources, he was briefed from somewhere after which he returned and paved the way for Mohsin Naqvi to be made the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab and then the name of Mohsin Naqvi was finalized, this is the name on which Tehreek-e-Insaf is strongly opposed. There were reservations because there has been a lot of propaganda about Tehreek-e-Insaf on Channel Twenty-Four and City Forty-Two and this is still going on. Some legal experts say that if there is no agreement on the name between the government and the opposition, the Election Commission could have used its powers to bring another name apart from the suggested names, but by not doing so, questions have been raised once again on the transparency of the institution. Besides being a journalist, Mohsin Naqvi also owns a private media group. Regarding the appointment of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, a meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, in which Secretary Election Commission and other members participated. The names were suggested while Hamza Shehbaz sent the names of Mohsin Naqvi and Ahad Cheema.
